Chris Bonner

Chris Bonner brings over 16 years of professional design experience to The Marshall Walker Group as an award winning Architect and sustainability expert. Chris grew up in the Midwest, but has had a lifelong passion for the coast. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Architecture, Chris located to South Carolina where he has had the opportunity to work on a number of projects from high rise condos to small home renovations. His passion for sailing, outdoor sports and a natural inclination toward warm weather have made Charleston a natural fit and welcoming home town. After working for other local design firms for years, Chris left to start his own, b Studio Architecture. While being on his own, Chris has won several Design Awards both from the Local and State Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a National AIA Excellence award for his work as the Director of Emerging Professionals on Charleston's local board. His intimate knowledge of the city’s zoning and approval process allows b Studio Architecture to help clients leverage their budget to its greatest potential. With an in depth knowledge of real estate finance and building codes, Chris has worked with many local developers to find the best and highest use for their property and can help you do the same. 

Living in the natural beauty of the low country and residing in a historic city such as Charleston, Chris strides to help educate all his clients on the sustainable options available to them. Chris has been L.E.E.D. Accredited (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for 11 years, and is always willing to lend his expertise to help others. While being 'green' might be a fad, living a sustainable lifestyle is easier and more cost effective than most people realize. Being an avid cyclist and active Charleston resident, Chris has exceptionally detailed knowledge of most areas on the peninsula and surrounding areas. He keeps apprised of all the local boards and changes that are in the works to our fair city.
